SAN PEDRO, Calif.- The Coast Guard is searching for John Hull, a 65 year-old man, after he was reported missing by his daughter late Tuesday.
Hull was onboard his 15-foot sailboat, the Panda II, and sailing with a group early Monday morning from Los Alamitos to Two Harbors on Catalina Island, Calif.
After falling behind the group, Hull text messaged his daughter to inform her he was turning around and would be home later Tuesday afternoon. When he did not return, she contacted the Long Beach Police Department.
The Coast Guard currently has a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Los Angeles and a 45-foot Response Boat from Station Los Angeles-Long Beach searching for Hull.
The Panda II is a white hulled 15-foot sailboat with an aqua-blue line near the deckline. If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of John Hull, they are urged to immediately contact the Long Beach Police Department or the Coast Guard Command Center in San Pedro at (310) 521-3805.
