CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard rescued three people from a capsized commercial fishing vessel Wednesday, in the vicinity of Egg Bank, St. Helena Sound, S.C.
Coast Guard watchstanders in Sector Charleston command center were notified of the incident by Beaufort County Dispatch that a 15-foot commercial fishing vessel had capsized.
A crew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter arrived on scene at 12:24 p.m. and hoisted the three persons. The crew flew to Johns Island Executive Airport where the three mariners were transferred to their families.
None of the mariners reported any injuries nor had any medical concerns.
No pollution has been reported from the capsized vessel. The owner and operator of the vessel is scheduled to arrange salvage operations for his vessel.
