MIAMI — Three people and a dog were rescued from a capsized boat Saturday by a rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Key West.
A boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Key West, Florida, rescued three people and their dog after their dingy capsized in the vicinity of Sunset Key, Florida. The three individuals were not wearing life jackets. The Coast Guard crew arrived within five minutes.
No medical concerns were reported.
Saturday marks the beginning of National Safe Boating Week throughout the nation. In addition to carrying the proper safety equipment, the Coast Guard reminds all boaters to wear their life jackets at all times, ensuring they are on properly and fit correctly, as it greatly increase the chance of survival in a distress situation.
