A survivor raft is used in emergency situation at sea, when an unconscious or hypothermic individual needs to be kept out of the water.

The SWET chair is a simulated helicopter cockpit used to teach Coast Guard members how to escape from an overturned helicopter in emergency situations.

In the SWET chair, Coast Guard members are required to perform several maneuvers to escape an overturned helicopter cockpit, such as cutting themselves free of the five-point seat harness and accessing the emergency oxygen stored on their survival vests.
