Coast Guard fleet to arrive in Portland, Ore., for Rosefest

PORTLAND, Ore. — Coast Guard cutters, response boats, and a motor lifeboat are scheduled to arrive in Portland, Wednesday, June 4, in celebration of the Rose Festival.

Coast Guard Cutter Alert, homeported out of Astoria, Oregon, and the Coast Guard Cutter Cuttyhunk, homeported out of Port Angeles, Washington, are scheduled to arrive at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park on the Willamette River, just north of the Morrison Bridge, no later than 4:00 p.m.

Response boat crews from Coast Guard Marine Safety and Security Team from Seattle and Station Portland will patrol the river and maintain a security zone throughout the week.

The cutters will remain at Tom McCall Waterfront Park through Monday, June 9, and are scheduled to be open to the public for tours at the following times:

Thursday, June 5, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Friday, June 6, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 7, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 8, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

CGC Alert will have limited tours Saturday and Sunday due to special events. The following times are:

Saturday, June 7, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Sunday, June 8, 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Tour schedules are tentative and subject to change.
