MILWAUKEE — Multiple agency maritime patrols involving the US Coast Guard, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department are planned for the waterways of southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois throughout the Labor Day weekend.
The participating agencies aim to improve safety on the water when boating activity is at its highest by ensuring compliance with all federal and state recreational boating safety requirements.
If you have questions about federal requirements, please contact your local boat outfitter or the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary website. Select “Click here to get started” to access the virtual vessel safety check feature.
The Coast Guard seeks your feedback online at http://tinyurl.com/MarinerFeedback. Boaters can comment on their interactions with the Coast Guard or share ideas and concern.
