CORTEZ, Fla. — A 74-year-old woman was medevaced from a 38-foot boat by the Coast Guard near Long Boat Bridge in Cortez, Florida after she reportedly hit her head when the vessel she was aboard ran aground, Tuesday.
The operator of the boat contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida, at approximaely 1:48 p.m., stating the woman hit her head due to the impact of the vessel as it ran aground.
A 25-foot Response Boat—Small crew from Coast Guard Station Cortez arrived on scene, medevaced the woman, and transported her to the station where she was transferred to emergency medical personnel for further treatment.
