Coast Guard crew medevacs man 2 miles north of Anlcote Key, Fla.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 31-year-old man was medevaced from a 30-foot pontoon boat by the Coast Guard two miles north of Anclote Key, Florida, Sunday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a report from Pasco County, Florida, dispatch at approximately 6:30 p.m., stating a the man had suffered a neck injury and needed emergency medical assistance. A Coast Guard flight surgeon was notified and recommended the man be medevaced.

At around 7:20 p.m, an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Florida, arrived on scene, hoisted the man, and transported him to Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida, for further medical treatment.
