BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. — The Coast Guard suspended its search off Long Beach Island for a missing 83-year-old man Tuesday after he was safely located on land.
The 83-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease, who was missing since approximately 1:30 a.m., was found by locals at approximately 8:30 a.m. near 83rd Street and Long Beach Boulevard on Brighton Beach.
Involved in the search were:
- Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay command center staff
- Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light
- Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City
- Long Beach Township Police Department
- Good Samaritans
