SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard aircrew medically evacuated a 61-year-old man suffering from a possible seizure nearly 100 miles south of San Diego, Thursday.
The master of the San Diego-based Prowler, a 57-foot sport fishing vessel, contacted the Coast Guard for assistance after the man began experiencing breathing difficulties, seizing and lost consciousness while fishing.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Sector San Diego was dispatched at approximately 2:15 p.m. The aircrew met the Prowler nearly 35 miles offshore of Mexico at approximately 2:50 p.m. to conduct the hoist.
The aircrew transported the ailing man to Sector San Diego where local emergency medical personnel awaited.
