NEW YORK - The Hurricane Sandy Pollution Response Unified Command invites members of the media to observe pollution interception operations in New York and New Jersey.
From the response center in Staten Island, media will have the chance to observe strategy and tactics employed to attack pollution-related threats to the environment in the impacted area. Interview opportunities will be available with key officials from the responding agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the New York and New Jersey environmental departments.
In addition to the response center, the command will grant media special access by land or boat to field response teams operating throughout the entire effected areas.
