WILMINGTON, N.C. — Capt. Sean Murtagh, sector commander of Coast Guard Sector North Carolina, will officially recognize and thank both the captains and crews from Sea Tow and Towboat U.S. for their roles in the Dec. 17, 2014, rescue of three mariners from the grounded fishing boat Shelly near Cape Lookout Shoal.
 
The commercial salvage crews responded to the grounded, 35-foot boat despite deteriorating sea and increasing surf conditions, which resulted in the survival of everyone aboard.
