CORRECTION: Coast Guard crews, local agencies search for 1 near Redington Beach, Fla.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Coast Guard, along with local agencies are searching for a motorized parasailor who was reported going into the water one mile west of Redington Beach, Monday. 

Coast Guard Sector St Petersburg, Florida, watchstanders received a call at approximately 5:20 p.m., from a bystander along the beach who reported they observed a person gliding with a motorized parasail, hit the water, bobbed for ten minutes then disappeared. 

It was also reported they could not make out a description of the person. 

Crews from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Florida, Coast Guard Station Sand Key, Florida, Coast Guard Cutter Alligator, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and Indian Rocks Beach Marine units are currently searching the area. 

PCSO will conduct sonar searches at first light. There has been no reports of a missing person in the area.
