Parade of Ships proceed under Golden Gate Bridge for Fleet Week

SAN FRANCISCO —  The Parade of Ships proceeded under the Golden Gate Bridge along the Marina Green for arrival at piers in downtown for San Francisco Fleet Week Friday.

The Coast Guard Cutter Active, a 210-foot medium-endurance cutter homeported in Port Angeles, Washington, represented the U.S. Coast Guard along with ships from the U.S. Navy and Royal Canadian Navy.

The San Francisco Fire Department Fireboats Phoenix and Guardian led the Cutter Active, USS ChosinUSS Kidd and the Canadian ships HMCS CalgaryHMCS Brandon and HMCS Yellowknife for the official Parade of Ships ceremony.

All of the ships are scheduled to host public tours along the Embarcadero from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend.

Other events surrounding the Parade of Ships Friday include the Veterans Memorial Dedication and the U.S. Navy Band Presents The Destroyers concert at Pier 39.
